Despite a Thanksgiving cold snap, this fall has been relatively warm–especially in the most southern states. This can pose a problem: How is a girl supposed to style her fall wardrobe when it feels like summer outside? Kileen of the blog Cute ‘n Little recently gave us one option in a recent post, and we loved it so much that we had to share. The 5-feet tall mother of 2 paired a candy-striped wrap dress with a boho hat and the Fortunate fringe bootie on a day trip to Carrollton, Texas. Note how the dress’s fabric keeps Kileen cool under the Texas sun, while the heavier textures of her accessories–felt and suede–give a nod to the season we’re actually in. Kileen’s loose waves, wide smile and that stunning mural behind her all create an image to remember. Return to this picture again in winter when you need a healthy dose of vitamin D! Below, find a bit more about Kileen in her own words.
Tell us about this look.
I love transitioning into cooler weather by pairing my outfits with booties. With a dress, booties can be unexpected, but I love the combination of feminine and tomboy aesthetics. It creates a look that is unique yet perfectly on-trend! The Fortunate has quickly become my favorite shoe this season. I love the playful fringe detail, and the caramel brown color pairs with everything. Plus its modest 3-inch heel makes for the easy walking!
What’s your style mantra?
Wear what makes you happy. Confidence and happiness will shine through and make any outfit look good!
Who or what is your fashion inspiration?
Olivia Palermo. I love her classic style mixed with trendy accents to make an outfit pop.
What style rule is made to be broken, and why?
In general, I don’t believe in style rules and break just about every one of them. Of course, I always wear white after Labor Day, mix prints, pair sneakers with dresses and even wear sequins in the daytime!
Describe your style in 10 words or less.
Classic style with a love for bright colors and prints.
