Want the leg-lengthening height of a heel with added stability? Look no further than one of this season’s hottest footwear trends, stacked heels. Stacked heels give the illusion of thin layers of wood that have been stacked together to create a chunky heel or wedge. And this is not the first time this trend has been popular. Stacked heels were used in some of the first heels ever created, and they’ve continually reemerged in fashion footwear.
Stacked heels are most often in wood tones that add an organic feel or in a sleek black shade. The chunky heel provides stability that you won’t find from a stiletto and gives visual weight to any ensemble. Wear them with a midi skirt, shift dress, or jeans in the daytime and dress them up with a simple cocktail dress for night. Stacked heels can also work in any season, from a fall/winter ankle bootie to the dress sandals we’re seeing this spring. The bonus is that they’re comfortable, stable, and easy to trot in.
Some of our favorite stacked heels for this season include the Diner, a leather dress sandal with fashionable side cutouts; the Draft, a leather sandal featuring another one of this season’s biggest trends, perforated details; the Dahnny, a multi-tonal leather sandal with a peep toe; and the Debra, a lower heel with d’Orsay styling.
